General Platform Questions

Q1. What is Kutoot?

Kutoot is a Bengaluru-based private limited company operating a rewards-first e-commerce ecosystem. Users can:

  • Buy Kutoot Coins (digital shopping vouchers) for guaranteed value.
  • Redeem Coins on shop.kutoot.com for products/services from verified vendors.
  • Participate in free promotional reward campaigns offering rewards like gadgets, gold, cars, or even luxury villas.

Our motto, "Shop. Reward. Give.", reflects three pillars:

  • Shop: Every coin has guaranteed redemption value.
  • Reward: Free promotional reward draws offer rewards at no extra cost.
  • Give: A percentage of net sales is pledged to verified charities.

Kutoot is not a lottery or gambling operator. Campaigns are free, transparent, and funded 100% by us to drive sales and customer engagement.

Q2. Is Kutoot a lottery, gambling, or gaming platform?

No. Kutoot is not engaged in lottery, betting, gambling, or wagering activities. Indian gambling laws prohibit games of chance involving monetary stakes from users. Kutoot campaigns are different because:

  • All campaigns are free promotions; no user money goes into reward pools.
  • Participations are available via no-cost referral or engagement activities.
  • Coin purchases may include bonus Participations, but they are optional and not mandatory.
  • Rewards are sponsored entirely by Kutoot as part of marketing expenditure.

This distinction ensures campaigns are classified as promotional reward schemes, legally valid under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India) guidelines.

Q3. How does Kutoot fund rewards for reward campaigns?

Rewards are funded as business expenses by Kutoot. The cost is covered by our marketing budget and revenue generated through e-commerce operations. Users do not contribute to reward funding.

This ensures compliance with law and maintains our business positioning: rewards are marketing-driven sales incentives, not gambling stakes.

Q4. Do I need to make a purchase to participate in a campaign?

No. Every Kutoot campaign has a "No Purchase Necessary" participation route. Users can:

  • Participate for free through referral links or other announced engagement activities.
  • Alternatively, receive bonus Participations when purchasing Coins (but this is optional).

This ensures equal opportunity for all users, aligning with fair marketing practices and avoiding legal risk under Indian laws.

Q5. What are campaign goals and how are draw dates announced?

Every campaign has a goal, we call it on platform as Bounty Meter (e.g., total Coins sold or user participation targets). Instead of fixed dates, campaigns run until the goal is achieved. Once the target is met:

  • The selection date is unlocked and announced transparently on the platform.
  • Notifications are sent via email, SMS, and app alerts.
  • Draws may be live-streamed for transparency.

This goal-based model ensures fairness and sustains user excitement.

Q6. Who can use Kutoot?

Kutoot is available to individuals who are:

  • 18 years or older, or the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction.
  • Capable of participating contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
  • Residents of eligible regions.

Users in states that restrict certain promotional activities (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana) may face limited access. Minors and Kutoot employees may be restricted from participation in some campaigns.

Q7. Is Kutoot available across India?

Yes, but with restrictions. While our e-commerce services are available nationwide, promotional campaigns may not be accessible in certain states due to local regulations. Users in geo-blocked regions are notified at login.
